Good morning y'all! Today's blog post is continuing our series on how to prepare for your engagement session! I can't believe we're already on the 3rd installment! Before reading any further, don't forget to catch up on part 1 and part 2!
Today we're going to talk about when the perfect time to schedule your engagement session is! Engagements are typically between 8 months to a year and a half long and that gives you so much time to pick and choose when the perfect time to have your engagement session! These few tips will hopefully help you narrow that down!
1) Pick your favorite time of year. If you just got engaged and it's only January, but your favorite time of year is Fall, it's alright to wait until then to have your engagement session so you love the images as much as possible. There's no need to rush.
2) Make sure you schedule your engagement session at least 3 months before your wedding date. Unless it's a last minute wedding, I always suggest this for a few different reasons. First, it gives you time to print anything that you want to use at your wedding (guest book, signs, etc). It also allows you to use the images for your Save The Dates! Lastly, when you are down to crunch time for wedding planning, your engagement session should be the last thing on your mind so it's always better to have it done before those last few months!
3) Try and schedule your engagement session around holidays and anniversaries or birthdays. Unless you are completely fine with spending your anniversary at your engagement session, I always suggest trying to remember that before choosing a random date.
4) Think about your work schedule. Is there a day off from work you have coming up? This would be the perfect time to schedule your engagement session if you're constantly worried about when to have it. I try to schedule my engagement sessions on weekdays because my weekends are booked and devoted to my weddings so it's best to find a day you have off ahead of time and keep that day open.
I hope these tips helped and if you have any other suggestions or questions, feel free to leave them below or email me!
